The C-64C is really a standard C-64 in a new sleeker case. When Commodore introduced the C-128 it revamped the C-64 line to give it the same modern look of the C-128. I would assume this was a marketing ploy to boost the sales of the C-64 since most people liked the new sleek design of the C-128, and would replace their bulky looking C-64's and buy the newly designed C-64C. It was a cosmetic change only, the board inside was an exact match to the older style. In fact there were some mail order companies who were selling the new design outer plastic cases so people could do it themselves and save money. |
